IMPORTANT NOTICE: (31st July 2007)
Our full programme of delivery projects came to a close on 30 June 2007. A few activities continue, primarily within the employer projects, involving our partners Learning South West, ACAS and Business Link. All of these will be completed by September 2007.
The end of project delivery brings with it the closure of our skills and learning activities for individual older people. This includes, Workwise – Age Concern Training; Action for Blind People; SEESAM & It’s About You - Careerfinder/PRIME; Exeter CVS. It also includes the ePortfolio work in pilot sites, outreach and through the skills and learning projects. Between them they have worked with over 400 individuals, a good proportion of whom are now in employment, self-employment or voluntary work.
The work with employers and brokers has largely been completed – the awareness raising workshops and presentations; the action learning sets; broker programme development; and support for the help lines associated with the Age Legislation. Evaluation and focus groups are in process and reports of findings are planned.
Initial summaries of findings across all areas of the project are included in a number of papers we have taken to conferences and exhibitions, and these can be found in the resources section of the website. They highlight key lessons we have learnt, and our continuing data collection and analysis will further identify lessons and provide evidence for them.
We now look forward to immersing ourselves in the final work of the project - dissemination, networking and mainstreaming. The SWOOP end of project event is being planned for 11 th October 2007. Mark you calendars and keep checking the website for details of this and other important events this autumn.
